Martin Li, also known as Mr. Negative, is a complex and formidable figure in the Marvel Universe, primarily associated with Spider-Man. Born as an unnamed Chinese immigrant, he was smuggled into the United States aboard the Golden Mountain, a ship that eventually crashed. Li survived but was experimented on with a synthetic drug that unlocked latent powers.

These experiments fractured his personality, creating two distinct personas. Martin Li is a philanthropist and founder of the F.E.A.S.T. homeless shelter, dedicated to helping those in need. Mr. Negative, however, is a ruthless crime lord, wielding immense power and influence within the criminal underworld of New York City. He possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility, as well as the ability to generate and manipulate both light and dark energy.

Mr. Negative's powers also allow him to corrupt others, turning them into versions of himself with inverted color schemes. His goals are often shrouded in mystery, but typically involve consolidating power and seeking revenge for past grievances, frequently targeting those he believes wronged him or his organization. The dichotomy between his two identities makes him a particularly compelling and unpredictable adversary.
